Origin story

Our Origin Story:

Founder & CEO: Jackson Greene (Founded at 15)

At 15, I spent most of my time isolated, struggling to navigate a world that often felt too heavy. My best friend, just 14, tried to take her own life, and I watched her cycle through mental health hospitals. She told me, “No one’s waiting for me when I leave. This is the only place that cares. I wish there was a place for people like me—people who are different, who can’t help it, but still want to do more.”

Mental illness takes so much from us—peace, purpose, and the chance to truly know ourselves. I, too, struggled deeply, losing friends to suicide and facing my own battles. At 17, I begged my therapist for help, but was turned away, leaving me to feel hopeless in my pain.

At my lowest, when the darkness felt overwhelming, I rediscovered my purpose: no one should feel so alone, so trapped in their mind, that ending it all seems like the only way out. That’s when Born Other was born.

This mission is not just about fashion; it’s about creating a movement that ensures no one ever has to face their battles alone. It’s a community, a place of refuge, a chance for everyone to feel seen and heard.

Born Other will continue to fight for mental health awareness, self-expression, and solidarity—because this movement is bigger than any product. It’s a legacy of hope that will live on.

Welcome to the Born Other family, where you are never alone.
